Project completion set for August

The new-look K70 million Butuka Secondary School on the Sabama-Pari Road in Moresby South will be completed before August.
This was the assurance given by contractor China Construction Steel Structure Corporation Ltd to Moresby South MP Justin Tkatchenko who visited the school yesterday afternoon.
In 77 days, signs are emerging of all structural posts going up for the classrooms, multi-purpose hall and 12 new teachers’ apartments.
“They have done well and for it to be done in 77 days should be applauded, when we walked in for the first time, the school buildings were old and falling apart.
“Look at what the children of Moresby South will be getting this year?” Mr Tkatchenko said.
“A new state-of-the-art school which we will not have to pay for anything, and I want to make that clear that the school is a gift from the city of Shenzhen in China to NCD, I am lucky they selected my electorate for the school.”
The school will feature 10 elementary classrooms, a two-storey 26 classrooms for the primary school students and a two-storey 16 classrooms for the secondary
