A TOTAL of 12 economies have been confirmed to attend the 10th APEC Transport Ministers Meeting (TMM 10) to be held in Port Moresby on October 6-8.
The meeting will be the first of such official meetings to be held leading up to the main APEC Leaders Meeting in November next year.
Transport Secretary, Roy Mumu, confirmed the number of economies to attend the meet; however, could not confirm the list of countries due to security reasons.
He said preparations are well underway to host all the leaders who will be in attendance at the Stanley Hotel in the capital.

The theme will be on “Regional Connectivity Through Inclusive, Resilient & Sustainable Transportation and Innovation in the Digital Age”.
Mr Mumu, also the superintendent of motor traffic, made a request for all residents in the city to appreciate the significance of the meeting.
“At this stage, my request is for Port Moresby residents and visitors to appreciate PNG’s hosting of this APEC ministerial meeting and understanding and observations of some traffic restrictions around the main intersections and routes to facilitate easy access to our visitors.”
